Today, I experienced what is called BFFs between guys. Do not get me wrong, I totally believe that guys can have BFFs, like how you can support your friend not only just mentally, but also emotionally. But today I was riding home with two of my guy friends, and they talked the whole way home, they gossiped, they talked about their back-to- school-shopping on Tuesday and how they can do things together. Now, I have to say that they are not gay. But somehow, I just wonder how two guys can spend time together all the time without getting the other person bored. I thought that guys are usually more independent. Don’t they want to have some alone time? or am I just stereotyping them?

The beginning of my Summer
It’s been so much fun hanging out with my family and friends. And of course, I have to mention about my first UCLA experience. First of all, I really want to say is that driving to UCLA freaking sucks!! I have a 8:30 class in the morning, so I have to get up early in the morning, and I’m sure to all of us that it makes sense that I have to get up early, right?! So I got up at 6:30am, and showered and grabbed a cup of coffee, and began my journey to UCLA. However, I was stuck in the traffic for almost 2 hours, TWO HOURS!!!! Isn’t that ridiculous?! I was so embarrassed walking into the classroom. I also was stuck in the traffic on the way back home around 3:30pm for another TWO HOURS! That’s FOUR hours in total! It’s nut, and it is driving me crazy. Honestly, I just can’t stand the traffic in LA. But other than the traffic, I really love my classes, and the professors and TA’s are nice and friendly.
My friend Jeremy and his friend Tiffany from Virginia Tech were on the their way to China for a mission trip, and they had a chance to stop by LA for about two and half days, so I was the tour guide for them. It wasn’t easy to be a tour guide because it was exhausting especially I did all the driving. But I had fun, and I am so glad we got the chance to hang out, and he and Tiffany, were able to see some of the hot spots in LA. Since I’m taking summer classes at UCLA, so I thought it might be a good idea for them to see how UCLA is like, so I dragged them along with me. Jeremy brought his frisbee with him to UCLA cuz he promised he would teach me how to play it, so he did, and I learned how to throw a frisbee during my break. I can now play Frisbee with people. Sweeet!!
I have a paper due on Tuesday, and I haven’t even started reading at all. Oh no!! I’m quite behind on my readings, and I’ll be going to Hawaii and New York for the next two weekends (I’m sooooo excited about these two trips). That means I’ll have not much time to read and study. I better start reading now.
Pan’s Labyrinth
It’s been almost a month since my last post. I’ve been so busy with school, work, and InterVarsity, and Single Students Apartment Community Council (SSACC). I barely want to sit down and journal about my life because I get so tired at the end of the day, and it’s kind of sad. But I’m going to use my 10 min study break to type my highlights of these past weeks.
First of all, I threw my birthday cocktail party last weekend, and it was a lot of fun. More than 80 people came that I could not even get through my apartment. Everyone watched me blow the candles and unwrap my presents. One things I’m glad about is that I locked my bedroom door; one of my neighbors’s laptop got stolen. What a bizarre! My family came as well, which totally made my night. However, my mom got a little upset because I introduced most of my friends to her but not the guy that I’m kind of seeing. I explained to her that it wasn’t the time yet. And I guess she understood.
My friends and I went to Blockbuster the other night, and we rented some movies home. And I want to recommend Pan’s Labyrinth to you all. This is a definitely a must-see movie. It’s a dark violent yet full of imaginations. So go and see this movie if you have time!
I have three and half more days away from my last final. I can’t wait til it’s all over and celebrate with friends. I’m also sad because most of my friends are graduating, and it’s like hey guys, don’t graduate, stay here for another year. But people has got to move onto the next stage of life, “The Real World”. The week is going to be choatic with finals, packing, cleaning the apartment, and moving out. Then… SUMMER HERE I COME!!
